20th November 2009 - Rebuild Mexico 2010 Fundraising Events

Over the next few months, many of the LBC youth (and not so youth) will be fundraising for their trip to Mexico in 2010.

Currently planned events include,

  • Ladies Pamper Evening on Friday 11th December at 7pm

£10 for 2 course meal. Auction, jewellery, cards & more. Contact Lottie Instone via the church office.

  • Auction on Saturday 30th January 2010

Offers of items to sell and promises to Linda Cram & Deb Instone via the church office.

  • Youth Concert on Saturday 6th February 2010 at 7.30pm

Soloists, ensembles, flute choir, string quartet & "Counterfactual" band

  • Valentines Meal on Thursday 11th February 2010 at Lymm Hotel

Enjoy a relaxed meal with live music. £20 per ticket from Deb Instone via the church office.

18th November 2009 - Breakfast in Bethlehem

On Saturday 5th December between 9.30am and 12.30pm, Lymm Baptist Church is open to all for our annual Breakfast in Bethlehem (A Morning of Christmas Family Activities) celebration. Breakfast in Bethlehem is open to all.

Come and join us for a fun morning out for all the family. Entry is free! Drop in anytime between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

This is a family event. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and all adults must be accompanied by at least one child!

18th November 2009 - A Christmas Festival of Flutes

On Saturday 12th December Nicola Gerrard will be playing a variety of flutes, pieces and styles for all ages.

19th September 2009 - Head of Community Engagement - Susannah Pilkington

As of 1st August, Susannah Pilkington joins Lymm Baptist Church as our new Head of Community Engagement.

19th March 2009 - Deacons Election

At the next church meeting on 19th March, there was a Deacons election. Alison Johnston stood down from the diaconate as Prayer Deacon and Tracy Beesley was elected as Church Secretary.

6th February 2009 - Holiday Club 2009

Lymm Baptist Church is holding its annual Holiday Club for girls and boys currently at Primary School, in February 2009. The club runs from 10.00am to 12.30pm on Monday 16th to Friday 20th February 2009. Click here for more details.

12th January 2008 - God at Work Course in Manchester

On Wednesday 25th February, the God at Work course will be launched in Manchester at Elmwood Church, Salford, in partnership with Oasis Manchester & various North West churches and other “faith at work” enterprises.

This course is based on Ken Costa’s book "God At Work", and aims to equip Christians in finding purpose in their every day work, and to live it out effectively. The course comprises of 6 sessions, with each session designed to last an hour and run on a weekly basis.

The course provides a Christian perspective on how to approach common challenges familiar to many such as:

  • Purpose at Work
  • Ambition & Life Choices
  • Work-Life Balance
  • Stress
  • Failure & Hope
  • How to Make Tough Decisions

12th January 2008 - "Learning to Listen" Course from Acorn

On Friday 30th January, Saturday 31st January, Friday 6th February & Saturday 7th February, Lymm Baptist Church is hosting a "Learning to Listen" course run by Acorn.

The Acorn Christian Listeners’ Course introduces "the idea of the ministry of listening, and the skills of listening more effectively to others, to God and to ourselves. It is open to anyone who would like to be a better listener in his or her everyday life at home, at work and at church. It introduces a safe, disciplined way of listening, but it is not a training in counselling".
