singer and songwriter
in Concert SATURDAY 13th NOVEMBER 7.30pm Admission £5.00 (includes refreshments) A superb evening with an informal mix of songs, humour and chat. Paul’s guitar and keyboard playing, vocals and humour will make this a concert all will enjoy. His songs have been covered by many artists around the world and his production and arrangement credits range from Country and Gospel through Classical to Rock and Pop. He has received an Ivor Novello award from the British Academy of Songwriters & Composers and a Dove Award In Nashville USA where he frequently works with other writers on a wide range of projects. Paul’s song ‘Testify to love’ has twice been a hit in the USA becoming the most played Christian song on American radio in 1998. Sir Cliff Richard has recorded many of his songs over the years including ‘All that matters’ on the Diana, Princess of Wales tribute album, ‘Thief in the night’ on 5 different albums and, of course, the controversial Millennium UK Number One ‘The Millennium Prayer’! Of the six musicals he has written, many in Lymm will know him best for the highly successful ‘Hopes & Dreams’ productions which we staged at the Baptist Church in October 2000. And every year the children who attend our annual Holiday Club event enjoy singing his kids’ songs as much as ever. In 2001 and 2002 he travelled to India with Garth Hewitt on behalf of Christian Aid where they co-wrote and produced ‘The Dalit Drum’ in support of India’s Dalit community or ‘Untouchables’. His group ‘Nutshell’ were one of the pioneer bands of contemporary Christian music in the 70’s, and nearly 30 years down the road he is in demand as much as ever as a musician, singer, composer and record producer. It promises to be an exciting event and is certainly not an evening to be missed! Ticket enquiries – Church Office 01925 752805 or pay at the door |
