Deacons News

18th March 2010 - Church Meeting

A deacons election took place at the church meeting held on Thursday 18th March 2010.

David Green was elected as Prayer Deacon.

19th March 2009 - Church Meeting

A deacons election took place at the church meeting held on Thursday 19th March 2009.

Tracy Beesley was elected as Church Secretary.

At the church meeting on Thursday 19th March 2009, Alison Johnston stood down as Prayer Deacon from the diaconate.

18th July 2008 - Church Meeting

At the church meeting on Thursday 17th July 2008, Mark Instone resigned from the diaconate.

At the next church meeting (18th September) there will be a Deacon's election.

13th March 2008 - Church Meeting

A deacons election took place at the last church meeting held on Thursday 13th March 2008.

Mark Stanway stood down as Property deacon.

Julian Matthews was elected as Property deacon.

4th October 2007 - Church Meeting

A deacons election took place at the last church meeting held on Thursday 27th September 2007.

Paul Gellert was elected as mission deacon.

Deb Smith was elected as Youth Deacon.

19th July 2007 - Church Meeting

At the church meeting on Thursday 19th July 2007, Mark Dyble resigned from the diaconate.

In addition, at the same church meeting on Thursday 19th July 2007, Clare Olliver stood down from the diaconate.

17th May 2007 - Church Meeting

At the church meeting on Thursday 17th May 2007, Angela Foster resigned from the diaconate.

4th December 2006 - Church Meeting

At the last church meeting (30th November 2006) a deacons election took place and Mark Instone was elected as children's deacon. Please pray for Mark that God will inspire and bless his future ministry.

30th November 2006 - Church Meeting

A deacons election will take place at the next church meeting (30th November 2006) and is open to all church members.

The election is to fill the vacancy for Children's Deacon. The pastors, elders & deacons are nominating Mark Instone for the position. However, a nomination list is on the main notice-board for any members to make an alternative nomination.

Please prayerfully consider this important issue and consider who might serve in this roles in our church leadership team.

28th September 2006 - Church Meeting

At the church meeting on Thursday 28th September 2006, there were no nominations for the current vacancies on the diaconate and therefore no election took place.

However, Clare Olliver, an existing deacon, has been appointment to the office of Church Secretary

14th September 2006 - Church Meeting

The mid-term deacons election will take place at the next church meeting (28th September 2006) and is open to all church members.

The election is to fill 3 existing vacancies,

  • Children's Deacon

  • Church Secretary

  • Pastoral Deacon

With regard to the position of Church Secretary, the deacons will be proposing the appointment of Clare Olliver, who is already a deacon. However, it will be open to church members to propose and second any other church member who meets the constitutional and scriptural qualifications for election, firstly to the diaconate and then to the office of Church Secretary.

The nomination list has been posted on the notice-board. Nominations will close after the evening service on 24th September.

Please prayerfully consider this important issue and consider who might serve in these roles in our church leadership team.

September 2006

Deb Instone (Pastoral Deacon) decided to step down from the diaconate.

August 2006

George Phillips (Church Administrator) stood down as Church Administrator.

30th March 2006 - Annual General Meeting

At the 2006 AGM,

David Atherton (Children's Deacon) decided to step down from the diaconate.

Clare Olliver was re-elected to the diaconate as Youth Deacon.

In addition, Alison Johnston was elected to the diaconate as Prayer Deacon.

15th July 2005 - Elders

Following the last church meeting on 14th July 2005, the following individuals have been elected as elders,

  • Richard Evans

  • John Hall

  • Brian Mortishire

17th June 2005 - Elders

Following the last church meeting on 26th May, the Chris, Rob & the deacons have announced that the nominations for elders are,

  • Richard Evans

  • John Hall

  • Brian Mortishire

The eldership election will take place at the next church meeting (14th July 2005) and is open to all church members.

18th March 2005 - Annual General Meeting

At the 2005 AGM,

Dorothy Evans decided to step down from the diaconate.

Mark Stanway was re-elected to the diaconate.

Deb Instone was re-elected to the diaconate.

Mark Dyble was elected to the diaconate.

Angela Foster was elected to the diaconate.

December 2004

Joe Rowley retired from the diaconate.

25th November 2004 - Church Meeting

Alan Perrin resigned from the diaconate.

25th March 2004 - Annual General Meeting

At the 2004 AGM,

Paul Gellert retired from the diaconate after 2 terms.

Bryan Mortishire was re-elected to the diaconate.

Dorothy Evans was elected to the diaconate.
