Charity Evening at The Cinnamon Club For the Savage Appeal Raising money for eyecare and healthcare in Tanzania. 7.30pm-late Saturday 14th September
Update 10th October 2007: The event raised approx. £2,100 so far. A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. Brian & Angie Savage have been working in Africa over the last 20 years and have committed their adult lives to the provision of healthcare in rural communities where such services are weak, or non-existent. The purpose of this event is to raise funds to support their efforts in the medical facility in Haydom, Tanzania. They, together with a team of committed locals, are building an eye care service and developing the health centre in Haydom, which even the poorest people have access to. The centre benefits around 700,000 people and offers services, which include mother and childcare, vaccinations, eye glasses and cataract extractions. The funds raised will be used to provide essential equipment, extend services and the training of further medical staff at the centre (further information available on request (see below) or click here).
